<br />
Unfortunately real life has gotten in the way of being able to maintin the blog which does sadden me as I do enjoy writing the posts, interacting with commentors and checking out other blogs. Another unfortunately is that it most likely will not be any time soon that I can maintain writing on a regular basis.<br />
<br />
I'm hoping to finalise some small posts to backdate for last year and the beginning of this year and once that has been done look at going forward.GameOverYeahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08390017506608672982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156484122684935283.post-60367044811363822842017-03-02T20:57:00.000+00:002017-03-02T20:57:01.827+00:00February 2017 purchases<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Two, what I would class as biggies, off the list in February in the form of Sakura Wars and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.<br />
<br />
Sakura Wars is one of the last few Wii games that I have been after and for some reason I kept missing out on it when seeing it up for sale, finally it is mine. Fire Emblem I don't think I have ever seen in the wild so very pleasing to add an elusive game to the DS collection.<br />

Looks like Nintendo have thought of every way that you could possibly play alone or with friends.<br />
<br />
If Nintendo can get the launch to six month games right this could and should hopefully be massive.<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
Youtube channel PtoPOnline has managed to get their hands on some early development from 2003 of a Metallica car game.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Being developed by Black Rock Studios <i>Damage Inc: Metallica </i>looks from the video like it may have been a post-apocalyptic car destroying game or a misson based car game in the vein of the later </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
released <i>Red Faction: Guerrilla</i> (yes I know that was set on Mars).</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
It's interesting that there does not seem to be any references to <i>Metallica </i>in the game even with it being such an early development. I wouldn't be expecting music but if you didn't know the title of the game you wouldn't think that it was named after the band.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

This is because I've hit a slump in gaming and writing.<br />
<br />
Since I last posted back in February I've played through and completed one game, which wasn't even that great, and when I do game all that I pretty much play is Pro Evolution 6 on the DS. I think that I'm slowly starting to come out of the slump as I've really been enjoying Diner Dash on the DS (it's funny the games that can revive your passion) that I purchased recently and I'm slowly starting to get the itch to write again.<br />
<br />
Give me a few more weeks and hopefully I may start posting again.GameOverYeahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08390017506608672982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156484122684935283.post-12531302220369248932016-10-01T20:44:00.000+01:002017-03-03T14:47:38.333+00:00September 2016 purchases<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

No, thankfully it's not a film about how the blocks came to be.<br />
<br />
According to reports Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand)is developing and producing a biopic based on Alexey Pajitnov who designed Tetris.<br />
<br />
For those who don't know about the origins of Tetris it was developed in 1984 by Pajitnov whilst he was working for the Soviet Academy of Sciences in Moscow. The legal and licensing rights then became very murky with several companies 'owning' the rights to the game.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>It wasn't until 1989 when the game was bundled with the Game Boy that Tetris became a worldwide smash and it was finally in 1996 when Pajitnov started to receive royalties.<br />
<br />
It is a very interesting story and one that certainly should be read up on. Hopefully the film will not take liberties and will tell the story as is, time will tell.<br />

It has been officially announced that Nintendo will be releasing Legend of Zelda HD for the WiiU alongside a Wolf Link Amibo and for pre-order bonus, a soundtrack CD.<br />
<br />
The game will be released 4th March 2016.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Whilst it's nice to see another Zelda game be re-released in glorious HD do we really need it? Twilight Princess is already available for the two previous Nintendo consoles the Wii and GameCube and even then you can play the Wii version on the WiiU. At least there was fifteen years between the N64 and 3DS versions of Majora's Mask and it went from a home console to a handheld (though it was released on the Cube as part of the Zelda: Collectors Edition).<br />
<br />
Maybe I'm just a bit fatigued by all the remakes/re-releases going on at the moment, especially the Zelda ones. So far we have had Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and now this in the past couple of years and whilst I do love the Zelda series, in my opinion this one is a bit unnecessary.GameOverYeahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08390017506608672982noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-156484122684935283.post-43236394383018988892015-11-03T22:18:00.002+00:002015-11-03T22:18:30.773+00:00Metroid: The Sky CallsWow, just wow.<br />

For all the cool kids, September 1995 was a good time.<br />

I'm sure a myriad of articles or a quick Wikipedia search

<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Wipeout – My first purchase, a spacey racing game with an
amazing soundtrack. Developed by the 'familiar if you had an Amiga' bods at
Psygnosis, this game really grabbed me despite my general dislike of racing
games.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Tekken – Second purchase, what needs to be said? The cream
of the crop when it came to 3D arcade fighters at the time. Having a character
that was basically Bruce Lee was also a massive bonus.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins – The first stealth game that
really worked for me, and basically a ninja simulator. Sneak and stab your way
to victory, the Arkham Asylums of this world all owe a nod to the orignal
Tenchu. <i>'<i><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Mangal;">Echigoya</span></i>,

Japanese style RPG I ever played, and it hooked me entirely. No other FF game
has come close for me since, and I still replay it from time to time (albeit on
Steam). Honourable mention for the soundtrack of this game, as a lot of the
tracks still invoke nostalgia. Here's hoping that the eventual remake is up to par.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Bushido Blade – Hilarious 'realistic' fighting game where
crippling blows and one hit kills were common. Kind of boring on it's own, add
a second player and the blood spattered grudge matches lasted for days.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Die Hard Trilogy – The game you bought a light-gun for, a
triple whammy of Bruce Willis inspired gaming magic. Whether you are top down
shooting in Nakatomi Plaza, light-gunning your way through Washington
International Airport, or screeching tires around New York, fans of the films
found a lot to like here.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

Worms – Available on all sorts of formats, this is another
game that became a star with two players present. Make you team of little worm

Street Fighter Alpha (series) – Everyone likes Street
Fighter, apart from that one guy, but lets not talk about that. The Alpha games
brought stylised graphics to familiar faces along with some new mechanics to
learn. The real star here is Alpha 3, which has an amazing character roster and
selection of modes, and still holds up as a stellar entry in the Street Fighter
series overall.</div>

Best Import Honourable Mention – Final Fantasy Tactics – I
mostly bought this as I heard some of the characters from FFVII had cameos, and
it turned out to be a hell of a game in it's own right. Challenging turn based

being released and for good reason.</div>
