Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

It has been officially announced that Nintendo will be releasing Legend of Zelda HD for the WiiU alongside a Wolf Link Amibo and for pre-order bonus, a soundtrack CD.

The game will be released 4th March 2016.

Whilst it's nice to see another Zelda game be re-released in glorious HD do we really need it? Twilight Princess is already available for the two previous Nintendo consoles the Wii and GameCube and even then you can play the Wii version on the WiiU. At least there was fifteen years between the N64 and 3DS versions of Majora's Mask and it went from a home console to a handheld (though it was released on the Cube as part of the Zelda: Collectors Edition).

Maybe I'm just a bit fatigued by all the remakes/re-releases going on at the moment, especially the Zelda ones. So far we have had Majora's Mask, Wind Waker and now this in the past couple of years  and whilst I do love the Zelda series, in my opinion this one is a bit unnecessary.

  1. This one is definitely not needed! The game played perfectly and looked fantastic on the Gamecube. The trailer for the HD version didn't even look any better visually...

The fact that it will be guaranteed to sell bucketloads and have thousands of people pre-ordering the Amiibo version and causing it to sell out surely has nothing to do with Nintendo's decision...

  2. Maybe not needed, but still desired. Of course, our original GameCube version of the game has since been ruined, but my younger two kids were both pretty excited - especially my son, who still considers this one to be one of his favorite Zelda games.
